Many of you have asked me to write a book, sharing the experience of living with the deaths of my daughter Erin, my wife Trici, and my son Rory. Some of you know I have been writing, off and on, since Trici died in 1999.
I am happy to announce that I have recently signed with a New York literary agent.Sitting in a Manhattan Starbucks, the intention we set is to have a finished proposal ready to present to editors by mid-October 2010, a publishing contract by the end of this calendar year, a book in hand by summer and one more appearance on Oprah before she signs off at the end of May 2010.
Life can be like that.
My working title for this first book is “The First Year - Living With Loss as Spiritual Practice.” Inspired by Sarah Ban Breathnach`s New York Times best-seller, “Simple Abundance” - my book contains 365 entries, divided into 12 chapters.Through the book I accompany the reader during his/her first year of consciously leaning into the transformative healing that awaits us – regardless of whether this truly is the first year following the death of someone we love ... the fifth year...or the fifteenth year.
